Rest is for the weak

December 1st is upon us! To everyone that successfully completed NaNoWriMo, CONGRATULATIONS ! !!!

To anyone who didn’t, don’t get discouraged. At least you participated. There’s always next year. Don’t give up.

Now that I don’t have to write a novel in a month that doesn’t mean that I’m going to take a break. If there is one thing that NaNoWriMo taught me is this: just keep writing. It doesn’t matter how it sounds now. With those words in mind, I’ve gone back to a story that I’ve stopped working on because I didn’t like how it was turning out. Now, I’m ready to give it another chance.

The story is currently titled Spirit Guardians but I’m thinking about changing it. Fantasy genre. I’m drawing from different cultures for inspiration – myths, legends, and monsters. That sort of thing.

I did go back to writing on paper. Honestly, I think I typed too much this past month. I need a break from that. Plus, having Power Rangers playing in the background really helps.

For now, even though my writing is vague on descriptions and information, I’m just going to keep writing. I just got to remember not to revise. The second drafts are much better than the first but not by much.

  1. Awesome job this month! I “won” the challenge as well. I’m not resting, but I’m reading and writing reviews for the month to help improve my writing style before I tackle the second draft.

But I’m not resting! I love this daily writing thing now that I’ve done it!
